How the points work

Every board adds up the points of the answers a team finds. A question scores in one of four ways.

  • From a poll

Each answer scores the share of people who gave it, so the most popular answer is worth the most.

  • Ranked by a measure

Answers are ranked by a number, like height or sales, and score like a survey: the top answer is worth the most.

  • All equal

Every right answer scores the same. Good for questions like “Name a month with 31 days”.

  • Harder is worth more

Answers few people think of score more: 10, 20 or 40 points.

Writing your own

Questions about your own company, team or year often get the biggest laughs.

  • Ask for something people can name fast

“Name something people take to the beach” works. “Describe your ideal holiday” doesn’t.

  • Aim for 4 to 8 answers

With fewer, a round ends too quickly. With more, nobody finds the last ones.

  • Poll your own team

Run a quick poll in your team chat a week before, and use the real counts as points. People love seeing what colleagues said.

  • Keep it kind

Nothing that singles out a colleague, and nothing people might not want to say in front of their manager.

Play these with your team.
